“A "must-do" when visiting Kona”
I've been fortunate to enjoy Kris's trip 3 times and am looking forward to another this fall.
What sets SHR apart from the others? Kris is a local boy - and his love and knowledge of the island adds to the already outstanding experience of being on the gorgeous water. He is full of stories and shares some lesser known special spots on the trips. He takes a patiently determined approach to finding whales and dolphins - I've never been disappointed.
Kris is also a really nice person - he is always checking to make sure everyone is ok and keeps an eye on his guests while they're snorkeling to ensure everyone's safety. No matter what your comfort level on the water, Kris will make sure you enjoy your trip.
If you've never taken a rafting trip or thought this might be an overpriced tourist activity - it is not. Rafting the coastline, snorkeling, watching the dolphins and whales - it's an amazing opportunity to explore and definitely not to be missed. For many of us, it's the highlight of the trip!

“An Incredible Experience!”
We have just returned from two weeks on the big island of Hawaii. We stayed at a friends time share resort in Kailua-Kona and had spectacular weather almost every day. The highlight of our trip was definitely our zodiac trip up and down the coast, stopping to snorkel in pristine coves and to sight-see along the way. Our crew of Captain Kris and 1st mate Saifon were phenomenal. Knowledgeable and accommodating at every turn, they turned our experience into a memorable one. We had spinner dolphins and green sea turtles swim right up to the boat, Humpbacks breaching in the distance and a guided tour of the coastline including stops at sea-caves, lava tubes and The Captain cook monument where Captain Kris told us the story of how he met his fate over 200 years ago.
Our thanks to the crew, we will be back!

Gosh! You can drive to a great snorkel beach and have fun with what sea life you see…. or you can experience the Kona coast up close and personal with a captain who will literally “give you the shirt off his back” and make your time the best ever (all this exclusive of time limitations). Wow! On our “experience-o-meter” SHR rates a 10+. From Shannon at the pier to Captain Kris and SaiFon, this cruise invites and encourages new friendships that will hopefully continue long past your voyage.
We would go again anytime!!

Aloha Kris,
You left a message on my phone yesterday and I wanted to respond to it. I wanted to thank you; the trip was one of the highlights of our vacation. We are already making plans to take another vacation to Kona next year and this time we will bring friends. We definitely will go on the trip again when we come back to Hawaii.
